About

Our workshops are a three-part series of classes that offer an opportunity for seniors to learn about various topics of technology. Each session is led by Korey who teaches about current information and provides guidance for seniors to learn helpful aspects of technology that they can apply to their lives. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and lively discussions, gaining practical knowledge and skills that can be applied in real-life situations. Join us to learn, create and connect in a welcoming atmosphere!

Workshop 1: Social Media Literacy

The first workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of how social media is used in modern day. We will provide seniors with the knowledge to tell if something on social media is misinformation and how to evaluate the credibility of an online source. We will also teach safe and effective ways to navigate modern social media platforms so seniors can enjoy engaging with social media worry-free.

Workshop 2: Future Finance

The second workshop provides seniors with the essential knowledge to recognize and avoid digital scams, including phishing, identity fraud, and online fraud. Seniors will also learn how modern payment systems work, such as Venmo and Zelle, and how they have transformed modern finance. Seniors will also learn about modern currencies and investment technologies, gaining knowledge on how today’s financial landscape has changed.

Workshop 3: Everyday AI

The third workshop introduces seniors to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and how it can be integrated safely and positively into their daily lives. Participants will learn how to use tools such as voice assistants, chatbots, and recommendation systems. They will also learn how to do everyday tasks with artificial intelligence, such as organizing and storing information, communicating, and accessing entertainment. The workshop will also dive into the risks of artificial intelligence, including how to recognize AI-generated content and avoid being manipulated by it.

Meet The Founder

My name is Korey Ellenbogen, and I am a junior at Livingston High School with a passion for finance. I currently compete at my school’s DECA business club in the area of financial literacy and critical thinking. I also work on the marketing team for the Young Minds Big Ideas nonprofit organization, which has raised $15,000 in order to facilitate young entrepreneurial ventures. I enjoy making a positive impact on those around me, and I created Next Chapter Tech to utilize my technological and business backgrounds to enrich seniors’ lives in my community and beyond.
